The relationships between the family are strained and maybe a split or fracture is looming. The big hopes you had for a full recovery, a return to normal, getting back to how things were and putting this all behind you like a bad dream have been dashed. There is increasing isolation and long term negative effects upon the family members. Other family members have become ill, injured, run down, disengaged or troubled.
